Slug Gun

I have never been into shotguns, as rifles were always my thing.
Just an easy question. Can you shoot regular shot shells out of a 12 guage rifled Shotgun?
thanks Turtleguy9

Short answer - yes. But you don't really want to as it will leave lots of lead deposits in the rifling and will produce horrible patterns. I believe it creates a donut-like pattern with a hole in the middle.

Do not shoot shotshells in a rifled slug barrel! You will destroy the rifling.

agreed. rifled barrels are made to shoot sabot type slugs. otherwise get a smooth bore for bird shot, buck shot, or other type slugs etc.

Aloha and thanks
So if you get one with a spare barrel, in say cylinder bore, you can change out barrels and be good to go?

yep. Improved cylinder or modified. I would not put a slug through full choke.

I have a few as "party favors" but they are not high on my list of MUST HAVE goodies.

I pefer to "load the boat" on #4 27 pellet buckshot....... that will liquify the first zombie and the rest will get turned into swiss cheese.:ok:

Just got in a MEC Sizemaster reloader with some #7, buck shot and slugs. Will be making my own. Pretty cool and cheaper.
